About Dusseldorf Airport
Located about nine kilometers from Dusseldorf city center, Dusseldorf International Airport serves the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany. The famous Zepplin LZ3 landed 3 kilometers south of this airport in 1909. The present site opened as an airport in 1927. Through the years, construction continued and the airport had two terminals by the mid 1970s. In 1986, Terminal C opened. Construction and updating continue bringing the international airport to what it is presently.
